Narnia,

For an introductory understanding of fire protection systems refer the book:

Introduction to Fire Protection by Robert W. Klinoff

Also two NFPA standards should help you in understanding "Fire Water" systems.

NFPA 15 - Standard for Water Spray Fixed Systems for Fire Protection

NFPA 20 - Standard for the Installation of Stationary Pumps for Fire Protection

Hope this helps.

Regards,
Ankur.

Hyper ,

Consider this resource to support your query .
You should consider to take a look at the MSDS of the products and risks associated

Using the search button you will find much more .

An other point to consider is the insurance and their requirement , same for local administration .

Hope this helps

Hyper ,

Consider this resource from which you can download many standards (IPS) . This will certainly help you and others who have lack of resources.

Just google the name of the standard you want .
